The Value of One Thousand Words

I would trade
a thousand words at least
for the gift of looking
at a thing
and seeing it
plain
for what it is

And just so
trading what I have
for what I want
I'd give another thousand words
to get a peace that I could share
and still another thousand more
for the love that crosses gaps
